Slovenia is a country with a green heart, whose landscape is dominated by towering forests, pure air and crystal clear waters. You can bike here all year round: in fact, almost everywhere the cycling season starts in April and ends in November, except in Istria, on the coast, where cycling is always possible thanks to the influence of the Mediterranean climate.
As soon as you cross the border, you cannot fail to notice the variety of the landscape: mountains, hills, caves, valleys and rivers. Considering the characteristics of this area, which offers breathtaking views, it is not surprising that cycling is loved and practiced in all its forms, from road biking to mountain biking, from cycling parks (bike parks) to family rides.
There are also plenty of specialized accommodations to accommodate cyclists.
Depending on terrain type, climate and vegetation, cycling destinations can be grouped into 5 regions: Alps, karst mountains and plateaus, wine hills and Pannonian plains, and Mediterranean Slovenia.
