From the “red devil” Giovanni Gerbi to Costante Girardengo and Fausto Coppi, from the Museo dei Campionissimi in Novi Ligure to the AcdB Bicycle Museum in Alessandria, cycling is in Piedmont’s DNA.
Map in hand for a field trip, weekend getaway, or multi-day stage route, in Piedmont it turns out A large network of bicycle touring routes for all passions, “flavored” with stories of villages, people and cultures in an architecture of natural environments of extraordinary biodiversity, perfect for those who enjoy nature photography and wildlife watching.

While respecting the environment, they range from mtb and gravel trails to high altitude routes on the Historic Mountain Routes or the Alta Via del Sale in the Cuneo area, enjoying the alpine skyline even on an e-bike. At the pace of the pedal, one travels through the undulating UNESCO landscape of Langhe Roero and Monferrato Astigiano and Alessandrino, touches Royal Residences and parks between Turin and Canavese, and skirts the mosaic of rice fields, farmhouses and abbeys between Novara and Vercelli. From Lake Maggiore to Lake Mergozzo and Orta to the Ossola Valleys, “slow biking” is the key word for exploring the area. In the Biella area, the beautiful Oasi Zegna is a trailhead for mtb and e-bike trails, with an irresistible Enduro Park for enthusiasts. For those who like a challenge there is the Biella – Oropa climb, Pantani Mountain of the Giro d’Italia, 12 km to the Sanctuary of Oropa, on the UNESCO World Heritage Sacred Mountain.

Professional guides and a system of hotels, rental services and bike shuttles, chairlifts and gondolas equipped to transport bicycles to high altitudes, are a guarantee of a tourism product that is attentive to quality and innovation, in a sustainable way.

Piedmont hosts the Tour de France 2024, with the arrival in Turin on July 1, and from Piedmont for the fourth time in history the Corsa Rosa starts, starting on May 4 from Venaria Reale, touching the Superga hill 75 years after the tragedy of the Grande Torino.
